Trump’s adviser says US, EU firms interested in return to Russia
MOSCOW, Dec 9 (PRIME) -- U.S. and E.U. companies are very interested in returning to Russia, Carter Page, an adviser to U.S. President-elect Donald Trump’s presidential campaign, told PRIME on Friday.
Page came to Moscow on Thursday for meetings with politicians and businessmen and said he will stay in the Russian capital until December 13. He said he is working on promising projects with private companies.
Despite a hostile Western policy and Moscow’s response, possibilities for cooperation in the next few years are as high as ever, he said.
The purchase by Swiss commodities trader Glencore and the Qatar Investment Authority of 19.5% in state-controlled oil major Rosneft showed that Western sanctions hurt Western businesses more than the Russian company, as many possible strategic partners from the West were excluded from the deal due to the sanctions, he said.
